The City of Glendale will host a community forum addressing the Estabrook Dam on Tuesday, September 15, 6:30PM-8:30PM. The forum is open to the public. Glendale Mayor Bryan Kennedy will moderate the information session and time will be provided for Glendale community members to present on each side of the issue (repair and removal), followed by a Q&A session for presenters to ask each other questions. One hour will be provided for community comment for anyone in attendance. Comments will be limited to 2 minutes each.
Milwaukee Riverkeeper will be there as we are fighting hard to remove the Estabrook Dam, but we need your help. We’re asking you to attend the meeting and if you are a Glendale resident to speak up & have your voice heard! As it stands, the Estabrook Dam is a public nuisance and the cost to repair, operate, and maintain the dam is already estimated at over $5 million dollars over the next 20 years. Removing the Estabrook Dam will improve the health of the Milwaukee River, save Milwaukee County money, and eliminate a public safety hazard.
Don’t forget to visit savethemilwaukeeriver.com to learn about why removing the Estabrook Dam is the best option for all Milwaukee County residents before the September 15th forum!
