Join together with 4\,000 volunteers across three rivers and many communities as we collectively remove more than 100\,000 pounds of trash in hours! \nThis isn’t just a cleanup\, it’s become an annual tradition! A celebration of teamwork\, connection\, and the power of community action. Whether you’re a seasoned environmental advocate or a first-time volunteer\, we’ll work together\, side by side and stream by stream to restore our precious waterways. \nJoin us afterward at the Harley-Davidson Museum\, from 12 – 3 PM\, for a zero-waste Earth Day Celebration with Rock the Green! SUMMARY:Baseline Water Quality Monitoring
DESCRIPTION:Events\nBaseline Water Quality Monitoring\n\nThis program has been filled for the 2026 monitoring season.\nDescription:\nBaseline water quality monitors visit their selected site once per month May through October. Each site visit takes approximately 1.5 hours. Monitors work within the river to collect water quality data on temperature\, stream flow\, transparency\, dissolved oxygen and macroinvertebrates. Please note that you should feel comfortable entering water that may be up to 2.5 feet in depth. Waders will be provided if you do not have any. \nTo find the best location for your participation in our monitoring program\, explore the map below and select the location pin of your choice for more information. Once selected\, you can register directly for that site! \nEvent Details\nRequired Training\nMay 2nd\, 2026\n9AM – 3PM\nRiveredge Nature Center in Saukville\, WI \nRegistration Deadline/Commitment Reminder:\nBaseline monitors commit to visiting their designated stream site once per month from May through October. A site visit takes approximately 1.5 hours\, not including commuting time to the stream. \nTraining Commitment:\nThere is no experience required to become a baseline water quality monitor.
