meeting regarding the future of South Shore Beach, which will be held:

We urge the community to advocate for the proposal that moves the beach further south to the “rocky beach,” which has dramatically better water quality due to better water flow and a better location across from the breakwater opening. South Shore Beach only had “good” water quality 41% of the time in 2018—it had an “advisory” or “closed” status 59% of the time.
It has been listed among the nation’s most polluted beaches for well over a decade. The only safe and reasonable option is to move the beach south to reduce bacteria levels and protect our children and public health.
