Milwaukee Riverkeeper

Event Info:

Join us for an exclusive Milwaukee Riverkeeper bus tour of Aesthetics Monitoring sites along the Kinnickinnic River! You’ll directly experience and record your impressions of these local spots where land and water meet under the guidance of Milwaukee Riverkeeper staff.

Aesthetics is listed as one of 11 beneficial use impairments associated with our Milwaukee River Estuary Area of Concern (AOC), which is currently considered a “hot spot” of pollution in the Great Lakes. Monitoring the aesthetics, or healthy appearance of our rivers, at these specific locations is an important step in helping the DNR and EPA better evaluate the AOC.

After the bus tour, we’ll stop for a delicious lunch at Lazy Susan MKE where Jennifer Bolger Breceda will give remarks and updates regarding Milwaukee Riverkeeper activities.

Following lunch, you’ll hear from our Riverkeeper, Cheryl Nenn, on the challenges facing and hope for the Milwaukee River Estuary AOC.

Participants will have a lunch choice of any two of these options:

1. Turkey & Brie Baguette Or Roasted Veggie Baguette

2. Spinach & Apple Salad3. Butternut Squash Bisque
*Plus beverage and a “Lazy Everything” cookie.
