DESCRIPTION:Events\nKayak Cleanup and Beer Garden Social\nRegister Now \n*Rescheduled due to rain. New date: August 4th\nDescription:\n\n\nJoin Forward Outdoor and the Friends of Lakeshore State Park for a community cleanup at the Dock at Discovery World. We’ll help put the finishing touches on Milwaukee’s Lakeshore Inlet ahead of the USA Triathlon National Championships. \nThe swim portion of the race will take place in the protected waters between Discovery World\, Summerfest\, and Lakeshore State Park\, with athletes starting from the Dock at Discovery World. Milwaukee recently joined the Swimmable Cities Alliance\, and this inlet is a good example of one of our Lakefront aras that is already clean and swimmable. Like any urban waterfront\, however\, litter can accumulate over time. This is an opportunity to help showcase Milwaukee at its very best before welcoming athletes from across the country. \nAfter the cleanup\, everyone is invited to continue the evening at the War Memorial Beer Garden for a casual summer social by the lake. \n\n\n\nWhat’s included:\n– Basic instruction for every participant \n– Properly fitted life jacket for each guest \n– Assistance getting in and out of boats as needed \n– Gloves\, trash grabbers and bags courtesy of Milwaukee Riverkeeper \n\n					\n					Event Details\nDate:\nAugust 4\, 2026 \nTime:\n5:00pm – 7:00pm \nPrice:\n$10/Ticket \nPhysical Demand:\nModerate \nAgenda:\n5 – 6pm Arrive at Forward Outdoor on the Dock at Discovery World\, get your kayak and cleanup gear\, \n7pm Meet back at the dock\, dispose of our trash\, and head over to the War Memorial Beer Garden for a social. \nYou Should Bring:\n\nWater Bottle\nSunscreen\nHat / Sunglasses\nWeather appropriate clothing\n\nQuestions?\nContact our Event Specialist\, Allie at allie@milwaukeeriverkeeper.org \nThanks to our partners for their generous support of this event!
