It’s time to restore our rivers! Join us for a two-day series for buckthorn removal and tree planting in Jackson Parkway. Registration is requested for each event you plan to attend. See details below!

Location: Jackson Parkway, near the intersection of Kinnickinnic Parkway & Sumac Pl (west of 43rd St)

Buckthorn Removal – October 19th, 9am-12pm

Let’s remove buckthorn! Volunteers will receive a brief training and safety instruction to start, followed by time removing buckthorn. Please reach out to allie@milwaukeeriverkeeper.org for accessibility requests and needs.

Tree Planting – November 2nd, 10am-1pm

Let’s plant some trees! Volunteers will receive a brief training and safety instruction to start, followed by time to plant trees. Buckthorn removal may also be included, as time and volunteer capacity allows. Please reach out to allie@milwaukeeriverkeeper.org for accessibility requests and needs.

What to Bring:

Wear sturdy, close-toed shoes and clothes you can work in. Long-sleeved shirts and long pants are encouraged. We recommend bringing sunscreen, bug spray, and a reusable water bottle, as well. Registration is requested. Snacks and refreshments will be provided!
