Every bit of plastic that has ever been created still exists, it’s not going anywhere, and everyday consumption shows no signs of slowing. We depend on plastic, and now we’re drowning in it. The Milwaukee River Basin is unique in its makeup, comprised of 3 distinct watersheds spanning over 800 river miles and 57 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline. Our rivers and Great Lakes are feeling the impact of this plastic epidemic, threatening the health of aquatic wildlife and our communities.
Will you help us to create a Milwaukee free of plastic pollution?
We are already working with other local community groups in the Milwaukee River Basin to encourage reduction of single-use plastics. Although we’re making progress, there is still a long way to go. We want to better understand where plastic is coming from, how it’s getting into our waterways and how it affects water quality.
While we work to find the most effective ways to change local community and business behavior, we need your support to truly achieve plastic pollution free waters. You can help us make a real difference by donating today towards achieving swimmable, fishable, drinkable waterways.
  • $1,000 to help us better understand the impacts of plastic in our rivers
  • $500 to get a team out to clean our most affected waterways
  • $75 to encourage individuals to refuse single use plastics
  • $35 to provide plastic free campaign materials for community groups
