In a time of so much division, our rivers have the power to unite us in our shared belief that everyone has a right to clean, safe water. Although we are surrounded by freshwater, this precious resource isn’t endless and its future is impacted by our choices.
Each year, Milwaukee Riverkeeper releases an Annual River Basin Report Card, detailing the health of the Milwaukee River Basin’s three major waterways: the Milwaukee River, the Menomonee River and the Kinnickinnic River.
Several paddlers and residents contacted Millwaukee Riverkeeper with reports of a heavy oil sheen on the Milwaukee River downstream from Silver Spring on Tuesday night. This spill was reported to WDNR’s Spill Line, and a warden responded.
