Below the Surface: A River Walk & Talk
DATE
Wednesday, September 18, 2019
TIME
5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
HOSTED BY: Milwaukee Riverkeeper
Over 900,000 people in the Milwaukee River Basin rely on Lake Michigan for their drinking water. Lake Michigan’s water comes from the Milwaukee, Menomonee, and Kinnickinnic Rivers that flow through the ever changing and growing communities of Southeast Wisconsin. Historically, humans dramatically altered and polluted the waterways we depend on, however in the last few decades we’ve made important strides in protecting and improving our precious natural resource. But how do we know our water has improved?
September 18th is World Water Monitoring Day! Adventure through Jackson Park with Katie Rademacher, Water Quality Manager, as she dives into the complexities and successes of Milwaukee Riverkeeper’s Water Quality Monitoring Program.
