Sustainable Creatives Exhibit: Bay View Gallery Night

What do water, art, and beer have in common? More than you think.

We’re inviting artists to make a splash at Component Brewing during Bay View Gallery Night. The theme is clean water and should be inspired by Milwaukee’s waters. But, don’t feel boxed in! Think memories by the lake, the feeling of rain on your skin, creatures beneath the surface, or the winding paths of the waterways themselves.

Serious topic, creative freedom. We’re looking for artists of all kinds to showcase their work as part of a collective installation. So, bring your perspective, your style, and yourself. Any medium that fits reasonably in the available space and can be safely exhibited will be considered.

Exhibit Date: Friday, May 29th – Sunday, May 31st

We encourage Participating Artists to help spread the word by sharing the event with friends, followers, and community networks. Please include your website and/or social media profiles.  We will include your name and applicable links on the Event Details page.

Milwaukee Riverkeeper may also photograph artwork and the event for promotional and social media purposes. Please let us know if you have specific needs and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

We will be installing the display the afternoon leading up to the event.

We will have hanging spaces with hooks, easels, and flat display spaces available. Please ensure artwork is ready to display. If your piece is best displayed in a particular way or you have specific setup preferences, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Final placement decisions may be adjusted during installation.

For labels, artists are encouraged to provide:
  • Artist Name
  • Artwork Title
  • Dimensions
  • Medium
  • Website or Social Media Handles
  • Optional Statement or Description

Short explanations of work, environmental themes, or personal connections to waterways are especially welcome.

Gallery Night is a community-centered event, and artist presence helps foster conversation, networking, and engagement with visitors. Artists are strongly encouraged to attend throughout the evening if possible, but attendance is not required.

Participating Artists artists are welcome to sell work independently if they choose. Neither Milwaukee Riverkeeper nor Component Brewing will take commissions on sales related to this event. Artists are responsible for coordinating any transactions directly with interested buyers.

Drop-Off:  Tuesdays or Thursdays at Milwaukee Riverkeeper offices OR Friday, May 29th at Component Brewing (1 -3 PM).

Pick-Up:  Tuesdays or Thursdays at Milwaukee Riverkeeper offices OR Monday (6/1) or Tuesday (6/2) afternoon following the show at Component Brewing.

While we will take reasonable care during handling and display, Milwaukee Riverkeeper and Component Brewing are not responsible for damage, loss, or theft of artwork. Artists retain ownership of all submitted work unless otherwise arranged directly with a buyer.
