SWAN: “Troubled Water” Film Screening and Discussion
DATE
Friday, February 15, 2019
TIME
1:00pm – 2:30pm
“Water is largely taken for granted by consumers but it’s becoming “blue gold” in the 21st century,” said Paul Manly, film producer.
Troubled Water, shows some of the threats to public water systems and watersheds using the East Coast of Vancouver Island as a case study and provides real examples of watershed stewardship, encouraging viewers to work toward maintaining water as a public trust in their own communities. MRK Executive Director Jennifer Bolger Breceda will give an update on the Racine, Waukesha and New Berlin water diversions. Seniors will have the opportunity to participate in our protect our Great Lakes pledge campaign and write a letter of support to Gov. Tony Evers.
Join us for this free public film screening and community conversation and learn how you can take action to help protect our public water. Complimentary popcorn and beverages will be provided.
