As a licensed 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we rely on community, state, and federal support to turn our ideas into actionable programs that bring change or impact to the Milwaukee River Basin. Our initiatives span a wide range of work, from educational programs, on-site clinics, and community-based cleanups and water monitoring to policy intervention and advocacy on behalf of our waters.

We are actively recruiting people who believe that work and fun don’t have to be separated. We seek contributors who represent our beautifully diverse local community and believe that clean water is a basic right. You don’t need to be a conservationist or even an expert paddler to join the movement.

This team provides financial analysis, advice, and oversight of the organization’s budget and management of strong and appropriate financial policies and procedures. This team seeks CPAs, Controllers, and all-around financial gurus to help keep the organization solvent.

Fundraising & Marketing
This team seeks creatives, content specialists, engagement experts, promoters and rainmakers that can help connect the organization to our community and encourage our local community to give generously to our cause.

Member Recruitment & Development
This team works to onboard and recruit new board and committee members. This team seeks individuals with experience both serving and governing boards, and with broad networks to help bring new energy to our organization of dedicated volunteers.

River Advocacy
The River Advocacy Committee provides analysis, guidance and oversight of the organization’s efforts to advance local and statewide legislation and policy in furtherance of protecting and restoring waterways in the Milwaukee River Basin and the organization’s mission. This team seeks attorneys, activists, scientists and grassroots organizers eager to influence positive change for our community of rivers.
