Let’s Restore: Menomonee River Parkway Buckthorn Removal
Description:
Let’s restore Menomonee River Parkway! Volunteers will meet near Menomonee River Pkwy & Concordia Ave, north of Burleigh. Street parking is available on Menomonee River Parkway. Wear sturdy, close-toed shoes and clothes you can work in. Sunglasses or eye protection, long-sleeved shirts and long pants are encouraged. We recommend bringing sunscreen and bug spray.
Spend your morning outdoors making a meaningful impact—removing buckthorn, connecting with neighbors, and enjoying the fresh air. Whether you’re coming on your own or with friends every pair of hands helps.
Milwaukee Riverkeeper will provide work gloves, hand saws, loppers and eye protection. Feel free to bring your own, if you prefer! Coffee will be provided, courtesy of Stone Creek. Please bring a thermos to help us keep the event low-waste (cups will also be provided!)
If you have trouble finding the group call or text the team lead, Leah, at 414-287-0209.
