Kayak Tour: Mussel Survey & Paddle with a Naturalist
Description:
Paddle a scenic stretch of the Milwaukee River led by Milwaukee Riverkeeper, Cheryl Nenn! You’ll learn about basic survey techniques for observing, identifying, and documenting freshwater mussels and have an opportunity to put those skills to use.
Forward Outdoor will shuttle us from Badger Meter River Park to Thiensville Village Park. We’ll help get you fitted for life jackets, and after a brief orientation, we’ll hit the water to paddle back to Brown Deer. You don’t have to be an expert kayaker to participate. We’ll paddle at a relaxed pace perfect for anyone curious about nature.
This guided experience is a great opportunity to learn about mussel surveys while enjoying a beautiful stretch of the Milwaukee River. All gear is included with your kayak rental. See you on the water!
