Smart Salting: Roadways

Description:

Are you a municipality looking to more effectively clear roadways? Join our Roads-Focused workshop on responsible salt application.

We will provide industry-leading guidance on:

  • Application rates
  • Equipment calibration
  • Emerging methods of snow and ice management

Learn how to manage snow and ice more efficiently—while protecting our local waterways from harmful salt pollution. The course concludes with a Smart Salting Assessment, giving participants the opportunity to earn the Smart Salting Certification.

Participants should expect:

Training session facilitated by Wisconsin Salt Wise. Breakfast, snacks, and refreshments will be provided throughout the session.

Please notify Milwaukee Riverkeeper staff of any dietary requirements in advance.

Certification:

An optional assessment to become certified in Smart Salting will be offered following the workshop.
